Thursday 5th November, 10am to 12noon – Riverside Writers – Rochdale Central Library, Number One Riverside
This week as we lead toward Remembrance Sunday this weekend Ray Stearn will lead a workshop looking at writing and poems from WW1 and drawing on his recent experience of visiting the sites in Normandy.
Ray has a particular interest in the topic and works as a volunteer helping to find and collate war grave information.
There will be time for discussion, for writing and for sharing (for those who wish to).
As always anyone aged 18+ is welcome to attend our sessions with no need to book. The sessions are free of charge, although voluntary donations of £2 are welcome from those who wish to contribute to the costs of running the group.
Thursday 5th November, 2pm to 4pm – Number One Writers – Rochdale Library, Number One Riverside
This month the Number One Writers’ Worksop will be facilitated by Gaia Holmes. Gaia’s session is titled “In the Rooms of My Life” and is bound to be an engaging and enjoyable session.
The word Stanza means room in Italian – a station, a stopping place – and each stanza in a poem is like a room in a house, a lyric dwelling place.
With Gaia we will explore some of the rooms of our dreams, our past and our present.
As always anyone aged 18+ is welcome to attend our sessions with no need to book. The sessions are free of charge, although voluntary donations of £2 are welcome from those who wish to contribute to the costs of running the group.
