Thursday 21st May, 10am to 12noon, Rochdale Central Library, Number One Riverside, Rochdale
This week at Riverside Glenis Meeks will be leading a workshop titled Mug Shots.
Glenis has been busy researching at Rochdale’s Local Studies Centre and looking at records from the criminal cases in the days that the Court was in the Town Hall. Inspired by mug shots, collected during in that research, the workshop will look at creating characters for short stories, novels or plays. The mug shots can inspire and evoke a presence that can feature as the focus point for the stories.
There will be plenty of opportunity to write and to share with the group. All aged 18+ are welcome to join Riverside Writers sessions which are free of charge. All you need is something to write with (pen, pencil, paper, computer, tablet, phone or a slate will be fine) and your imagination.
Voluntary donations of £2 towards the cost of running the group are very welcome but are not essential.
