Thursday 3rd October, 10am to 12noon, Number One Riverside, Rochdale
This week our creative writing session will include a workshop from Eileen Earnshaw titled “Saving the Day”.
The session is free and anyone aged 18+ can join us, no need to book, just turn up with a pen and paper as you will be welcome (if you forget the pen and paper don’t worry as we’ll always help out).
Out sessions are usually held in the open area at the far end of the library from the main entrance. Should we be allocated a different space on the day we do have a large pop-up banner and library staff are happy to help.

Hi Seamus and Eileen,
This is my poem on the subject of counting. What do you think? Is there a competition I can enter it into, in honour of National Poetry Day or has the competition closed? Thanks in advance for reading!
Counting Down
Maths is absolute
Solid and dependable
A universal truth
So why am I confused?
I have three
Is what I should have said
But what if one of the three
Is dead?
Do they not count?
Or do they count even more?
Because they’re our reason
To get to Jannahs Door
My sweet Ibrahim
Now you’re seventeen
I miss you like I did back then
And I’m counting down
To the Day we meet again
