15th May, Riverside Library
With the upcoming “Folk Like Us” event on 31st May this week we will have the chance to learn and practice techniques reading with a microphone and amplifier, and get some useful tips for performing your poetry.
The session will be run by Eileen Earnshaw and Seamus Kelly and will be useful for poets wherever you might read your work and for events like radio interviews etc.
Alongside this activity there will also be opportunities for members to work on their own writing, with writing prompts provided for those who would prefer to work from prompts.
As always the session is open to all aged 18+ and runs from 10am to 12noon.
FREE Nature Journalling Workshop

On Saturday two of our members, Maggie and Seamus Kelly are running a FREE Nature Journalling Workshop at Hollingworth Lake. There are still some places available and these can be booked by emailing seamus@onepoetsvision.co.uk
This will be a great chance to spend some time in nature, boost creativity, enjoy a mindful activity and learn a range of simple techniques with words and images to create your own journal – blank journals will be provided for the participants.
The workshop will be held in the Lake Room at the RSPCA Animal Centre at Hollingworth lake from 10am to 2.00pm.
