Poetry Café starts a busy writing week

Three creative writing events take place next week.

On Tuesday 4th February the open mic Poetry Café returns for the first time since Christmas. We are hosted by the excellent Coffee on the Corner in Littleborough where you’ll be welcome, and strongly encouraged, to try some of the excellent brews and delicious cakes. The free event runs from 6pm to 8pm and we welcome those wanting to read poetry, sing a song or listen to our performers. Those wanting to perform should give me, Seamus Kelly, their names to be added to the list.

On Thursday 6th February the Riverside Writers session takes place in Rochdale Central Library from 10am to 12noon, open to anyone over 18 who wants to join our creative writing session.

Also on Thursday in Rochdale Central Library from 2pm to 4pm the Number One Writing Group will hold their monthly writing workshop. This week I will be delivering a session titled “Sitting with giants”. These are not the massive people of myth but some literary giants from whom we will be taking inspiration to create our own writing.

  1. Thanks for the advertisement, Seamus 🙋 Also, I am hoping to come along to your Cafe on the Corner next Tuesday to read something, though haven’t decided what yet.
