Thurs 12th May – 10am – 12noon, Rochdale Central Library, Number One Riverside

The Riverside Writers workshop this week will be “Birdlore” by Seamus Kelly.

Taking inspiration from folklore, mythology, and legends, involving birds, we will be sharing examples and creating some new pieces.

There are classic tales about all sorts of birds including kingfishers, owls, corvids and others as well as mythical birds like the phoenix.

As always anyone aged 18+ is welcome to join us for this free session, and can take part in the exercises etc. but there is no pressure and you are welcome to listen and see how the group works. There will be opportunities to write in your chosen style and genre, always with support from other writers, and to share your work if you like.

The main aim of our sessions is to encourage and support each other in our creative writing – and ,of course, to have some fun doing it.

You will find us near to the rear entrance to the library in the activity area (former children’s library).
