Rochdale Central Library – Thursday 7th November 10am – 12noon
In a busy week for writers the Riverside Writers workshop will be a time to reflect as we approach Remembrance Day (11/11/2024), and Remembrance Sunday (10/11/2024). Eileen Earnshaw will lead a creative writing workshop titled “Oh, to be a hero”.
Eileen always leads inspirational workshops and I’m sure this one will certainly be thought provoking and lead to some interesting, and possibly challenging new writing. As always this session is free of charge and all are welcome.
Also this week – Poetry Café, Littleborough and open-mic Vicolo del Vino
On bonfire night the third Poetry Café event will take place at Coffee on the Corner in Littleborough. The event runs from 6pm to 8pm and is hosted by Liz White and Seamus Kelly. You are invited to come along to read some of your poetry, a favourite piece or to listen to the poets who will be reading. The venue is provided free of charge, so we’d ask that those attending might buy a couple of drinks and maybe a slice of the excellent home made cakes to support the café.
On Wednesday, 6th November, the Heywood Scribblers group will include a workshop from Lynn Lovell “Into the Past”. Hosted by Katie Haigh these sessions are held in Heywood Library from 1.0pm to 3.10pm.All abilities are welcome and light refreshments are provided.
Also on Thursday, 7th November, the Number One Writing Group hold their monthly session in Rochdale Central Library from 2pm to 4pm. This month the facilitator will be Gaia Holmes whose book “He used to do dangerous things” has been published this month. All welcome to what will be an inspirational session.
On Sunday Evening, 10th November, Eileen Earnshaw and Michael Higgins will be hosting an open mic evening at Vicolo del Vino in Rochdale. This free event starts from 7pm and you can expect a variety of poetry, music and occasional dancing. This event is held monthly on the second Sunday of the month.
